Named Lectures
The following named lectures will take place at Ghent Pathology 2025.
BDIAP Kristin Henry Lecture

The Kristin Henry Lecture is named after the late Professor Kristin Henry, a distinguished former president of the International Academy of Pathology (IAP) and of the British Division of the IAP (BDIAP). Professor Henry's involvement with the BDIAP included a successful period as Treasurer and with the IAP as Chair of both the Finance Committee and the Education Committee. She was instrumental in establishing the British Arab School of Pathology, the paradigm for many such schools promoting pathology education around the world. The school has been renamed in Professor Henry's honour, to the Kristin Henry School of Pathology.
The opportunity to present this lecture is awarded to someone considered by the BDIAP to have contributed significantly and exceptionally to histopathology throughout their career.
The 2025 Kristin Henry Lecture will be delivered by Dr Eduardo Calonje.
Pathological Society CL Oakley Lecture

The CL Oakley lectureship was founded in 1979 in honour of the late Professor CL Oakley and the funds to endow it were provided by the 6th European Congress of Pathology.
The objective of the Oakley lectureship is to stimulate original investigative studies in the fields of scientific laboratory medicine and to encourage and reward young people in their research effort.
The 2025 CL Oakley Lecture will be delivered by Dr Maggie Cheang.
Pathological Society Doniach Lecture

The Doniach Lectureship and Award was founded in 2003 in honour of the late Professor Israel Doniach. The objective of the Doniach Award is to celebrate the life long contribution of a Senior member of the Society to the science of Pathology and to the Scientific activity of the Pathological Society.
The 2025 Doniach Lecture will be delivered by Pr Ming - Quing Du.
Pathological Society Public Lecture
Tuesday 24 June 2025, 17:40 - 18:30
The Pathological Society Public Lecture will be delivered by Dr Dilani Samarawickrema Lokuhetty - Head of WHO Classification of Tumors Programme, IARC.
The Public Lecture will take place in person at the ICC Ghent. It will also available to view via live stream.
